So, you want to record Last.fm?

Here's some suggestions on making sure it works. Because you are using third part site like last.fm, it's a bit more work than recording Shoutcast.

  • Using IE, be able to log into Last.fm, click on a station, and listen to the station via the external player. This is probably the most critical item - if you can't use Internet Explorer to log in and play with the external player, then StationRipper won't record for you.
  • Make SURE you userid and password, that you enter into StationRipper, are valid.
  • If you don't have .NET 2.0, download and install it. If you have it, we've seen it messed up on some computers. You may want to reinstall it.
  • If you have any firewall software, make sure LastFMConsole.exe and StationRipper.exe has outbound access. If things aren't working you might want to disable it and see if that fixes it (re-enable after you test!)

Again, the biggest problem is when the Last.fm site (using Internet Explorer) is not set up to use the external player. StationRipper embeds IE, and uses it to access the Last.fm site - so it has to be set up correctly.

To get this work:

  • Login the Last.fm site

  • Go to settings
