So, you want to record Last.fm?
Here's some suggestions on making sure it works. Because you are using third part site like last.fm, it's a bit more work than recording Shoutcast.
- Using IE, be able to log into Last.fm, click on a station, and listen to the station via the external player. This is probably the most critical item - if you can't use Internet Explorer to log in and play with the external player, then StationRipper won't record for you.
- Make SURE you userid and password, that you enter into StationRipper, are valid.
- If you don't have .NET 2.0, download and install it. If you have it, we've seen it messed up on some computers. You may want to reinstall it.
- If you have any firewall software, make sure LastFMConsole.exe and StationRipper.exe has outbound access. If things aren't working you might want to disable it and see if that fixes it (re-enable after you test!)
Again, the biggest problem is when the Last.fm site (
using Internet Explorer) is not set up to use the external player. StationRipper embeds IE, and uses it to access the Last.fm site - so it has to be set up correctly.
