Installed SR 2.98.2 Build Sep 18 2010 17:11:20
On Windows 7 64bit Cannot record. Get SR_ERROR_CANT_BIND_ON_PORT . Killing stream This is for 259 Happy Rock Radio Caroline. This has station has always worked and have installed on to a 32bit XP and is ok so I know the station is good. Thankyou |

I was able to record that station ok (so it's not a issue with that).
This error means StationRipperConsole.exe is trying to access a outbound port but isn't allowed to. I would first add StationRippperConsole.exe and StationRipper.exe to full trust on your virus/firewall sofware and re-try. Could also try running StationRipper as admin -Greg |

I used Station Ripper for years on my XP computer (I LOVED IT). I've had the exact same problem with 64 bit Win 7 with multiple saved stations and multiple new stations. I'm sure it's not the firewall because I turned the Norton firewall off. I've uninstalled Norton and turned the Windows firewall off. I've given SR pass through permission in the Windows firewall. I've given the program every permission in the UAC including all read/write and full control permissions to every user. I've tried right clicking on the .exe and selected "Run as Administrator. I tried moving the Work and Output folders to Program Data instead of the(x86)Program Files."... still the same error on recording any station. I think at this point I am ready to give up because I'm out of ideas.

So you're actually getting a "SR_ERROR_CANT_BIND_ON_PORT"?
Make sure on permisions you're giving it to StationRipperConsole.exe Not sure what else it could be - it runs fine on all released versions of windows (I use it on 64bit Win 7). The message is saying the console isn't allowed access to the port (so SOMETHING is blocking it) -Greg |
