I am trying to rip a working stream, but I get this error message:
"could not connect to the stream. Try checking that the stream is up and that your proxy settings are correct. Killing stream." The station is playing fine now in my browser, so that's not the issue. In my router's Port Forwarding, I did open up Port 10069. However, I don't know what I am supposed to correct my proxy settings. Any advice? |

Are you actually using a proxy server to connect? If not, then this just likely means StationRipper, for some reason, couldn't connect to the shoutcast server.
What Station is it? At the very least give StationRippeConsole.exe free outbound access - stations can be on ANY port. -Greg |

I am trying ALL the top-rated shoutcast stations. I turned off my Norton firewall. I went into Internet Properties/Connections and added StationRipperConsole.exe as a Virtual Private Network. How do I configure this connection, as there are many further details required?
The shoutcast stations either play music and don't rip, or add the station to the bottom of the page, then launch various error messages. In all instances, nothing at all gets ripped. Edited by Bluebeard - 15 February 2011 at 8:00am |

For anyone who has this problem and is looking for an answer..
you need to set the settings on the streamripper to your internet connection speed. To do this go to the help menu on the SR and then go to settings. At the bottom of the page you will see internet connection options. Usually it is the lan/broadband in most cases. Hope this helps. |
