I'm new to SR, trying to record last.fm from win7. I first tried the embedded browser way, after repairing .net2, downloading last.fm player, and changing settings to play to the player, not website. So that all works, but SR every time throws an error, "system.net.webexception: the remote server returned an error (403) forbidden ... killing stream". Can anybody tell me what error 403 means?
Anyhow, I'll get back to the embedded method later, it seems that other people eventually get it to work. But then I tried the station sniffer. I got it working, mostly. It records, and seems pretty stable, and splits songs, so far so good. But here is my question - the problem is that it doesn't get the tags (artist-title), the filenames are all just a bunch of numbers.mp3. Is this normal? Is the sniffer supposed to get last.fm tags? I tried the other beta sniffer, it opens its console window but then just sits there and doesn't even rip. I would be OK with the regular sniffer if it would just catch the tags. How to do this? |

About the sniffer, I should have added some detail about what I did:
- open SR, start sniffer - open firefox, start last.fm station playing - change proxy to manual 127.0.0.1 and port 20069 - sniffer window says S++, it got signal, but filenames have numbers.mp3 - now change last.fm station in firefox as recommended on wiki to get tags as filenames. But still doesn't catch artist-title tag, only numbers.mp3. This seems pretty close but not quite there. What else should I try? |

I'm getting this too with Pandora. All the track names are numbers, only with "pandora_" in front of the number.
The strange things is that the first four songs all had "artist - track" for the file, now I'm only getting "pandora_(number)". I'm using Firefox to play Pandora, have restarted everything numerous times, and can't get it back to giving me the artist and track name. |

Responding to my own reply (which I don't see posted yet):
I can now get file names playing Pandora in Firefox, but it is inconsistent. Refreshing the page in Firefox sometimes gets it to work, though I still get "pandora_(long number)" for the file name a lot of the time. |

J.B. - Are you getting this StationSniffer or SmartStationSniffer?
When this happens it means it can't figure out the song name. Sometimes you can delete temp files in your browser and it will flush things out. I'm looking at ways to better address this (but SHOULD normally work pretty good - will look at what may be ok). Let me know if deleting temp files and starting a new station works. -Greg |
