Here's a whole section on the wiki that talks about recording Last.fm: http://www.stationripper.com/wiki/Recording_LastFM.ashx If you run the console like above, it WILL work, but you have to pass the registration info (rather not I have been unable to play ANYTHING in their external player - so I assume something is down on the Last.fm side. Anyone else have any luck playing something in the external player? Until the external player works, the StationRipper stuff won't work either. -Greg |

Thanks Greg! I'm off to a week of vacation now, but I'll give it another try when I'm back.

Glad to hear you are all set :) I've seen last.fm die like this before (on their end, something odd going on). The next version is StationRipper will at least give better error messages. -Greg |

Hi,
I'm able to listen, but when I rip, it says Starting... and the console shows the name of a song, the size grows, and grows, and grows... and it never stops or switch to another song. What's wrong? M/ |

I'm sure this is an easy fix, but I can't copy from last.fm. I
downloaded the external player, I've downloaded the .NET, thing. I
just don't know how to start the ripping process once everything is
running. I've filled out the tab of the options with my username and
password, should it start automatically, or do I need to do something
special? Thanks for your help.

Hi First, did you check out the wiki link above? When you click on a Last.fm station while running StationRipper, what happens? -Greg |

I have the same problem as JanZ had. The difference is that in my case it did not work after waiting a week.
I've read the Wiki page and the forums. I have .net 2, installed and reinstalled several times, the last.fm software running, the IE being able to start the last.fm software etc. I can choose a station of last.fm, choose my user who should record the station (checked the passwords) and about half a second I could believe it worked, but it doesn't. I always get the error
And nothing is recorded. I tried the command line for (start -> run) for checking for .net errors, but it doesn't give me an error report. I tried the station ripper console window, but the console flashes that damn short so that I can't read anything of the text written there. (Shoutcast stream consoles show longer) My log says the following:
I use v.2.84 and don't have a firewall at all. Also tried path forwarding at the router. I would be glad if anyone has any further ideas. Edited by icosan |

Yeah, the streaming servers have been done - without them, there's nothing to record.

The last.fm streaming servers have been down the last couple of days - so there's no way to record. I'll continue to try (and if anyone else sees the servers up, say something!) -Greg |

Hey, Just starting to use StationRipper today and I have a major problem getting it operating. I can get ST to actually record streams and output them as a file but they are always completely the wrong track!
For example I want to record this track: lastfm://play/tracks/124377494 which is "f**k Buttons - Live at Supersonic". I browse through last on StationRipper and click "Play" for the track. The track that is currently rippin is in fact "Slow Listener - Bruise Journal". Listening to it via Winamp its obvious its completly the wrong track. On two previous attempts to record this track I've managed to get Otis Redding - (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay and The Field - Over The Ice.. What's going on at all? |
