Try this: http://www.stationripper.com/release/SR_V2.72A.exe I was testing tonight and recorded 58 songs on one stream and 48 on another. This doesn't re-try right now, but prevents a error (it's handing bad chars in file names - which was probably causing your issue). -Greg |

Ok My Last Fm Stations are working good and recording the songs properly. The only issue is that they don't save in the radio names folder. When i record shoutcast stations it puts the songs in the station name e.g. Proton Radio Folder, RTDS Folder, Smoothbeats Folder etc. and its really easy to organize the music. I can't organize the last.fm songs because they all go into one big folder and its impossible to know where each song came from. ANy suggestions?

I have the same problem. It is not possible for me to rip an own stream in the way of "music similar to [name of the artist]". I would be pleased about a soon response. It only plays the song. If I type in the URL manually (for example "lastfm://listen/artist/Alabama%25203/similarartists") it only says "Starting stream" without doing anything. Edited by deep7 |

Awsome program! However, i've been having some serious problems with trying to record the "On-demand playback" stations. For exempel, i was trying to record a complete album that is available for streamlistening on last.fm. At first the program just starting recording random songs that weren't on the album but after a few "remove" and "resume" it finally started recording the album. However, it skipped one of the songs and now it's totally impossible to get it to record the album/station again... :-/
I've tried changing the "work" and "output" paths but it still doens't work, when i try recording the album again it's starts for a second but then just skips all the tracks and starts recording random songs again... Any idea about what might be wrong? I hope you understand my problem, not sure i described it that good... :) |

Hey Greg: I've seen this a couple of times in the forum, but no answer yet. I realize that songs from LastFM will not go into their own folder yet, but as soon as a song is finished rippping from my station (lastfmglobaltagsjazz) it briefly displays as an MP3 and is immediately deleted. Here is a bit of my log file: [Debug] 04/20/07 08:38:24 TheRipperDlg.cpp(5624): Processing New It would appear that the song was incomplete, but why would that happen with every song? A second but less important issue is that certain Shoutcast stations are now displaying as Stationripper_rips and nothing is ever recorded. It does create the folder, but never saves a completed song even after running for several hours. Thanks for a great app. Mark Edited by mtminson |

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me because I think this program could be so good.
Whenever I try and rip a stream of last.fm all I can see in the window is meta interval: -1 relay port:10069 [getting track name...] [re-connecting...] -[re-connecting...] -[re-connecting...] -[re-connecting...] -[re-connecting...] -[re-connecting...] -[re-connecting...] -[re-connecting...] - and so on. I recommend reading this first: http://www.ratajik.com/StationRipper/forum/forum_posts.asp?T ID=2421&PN=1 It can take a bit to set everything up. Thanks, -Greg |

hey there, i spoke with you on youtube briefly.
Here is what I've tried: 1) checked IE (plays fine here and fire fox) 2) re-installed .net 2.0 3) set fire wall exceptions & even tried turning it off 4) Checked my username and password in Station Ripper Problem: So station Ripper loads fine. When i click "Last.FM" on the side bar, the site also loads fine. however, when I start the player StationRipper does not prompt me for user info, or recognize i am playing a stream. If i click on "last.FM stations" and hit play or record buttons the IP quickly pops up in the dock, shows green, says buffering, and the black dos console screen appears. but all of this lasts approx .5 of a second and just flashes up. it all auto removes/closes (the main program will still stay up) I cant seem to find anyone having this problem on the forum, any suggestions? thanks! |

When you say "starts the player", do you mean the last.fm player starts up? Which one, the flash player or the external? If flash, then you need to get it so it pops the external when you click on a station. You could also try typing something like lastfm://globaltags/90s in the url bar at the bottom and click "add" in StationRipper. Also, you can try going to View->Options, Advanced tab and click Show Console Window. That MIGHT give more info. -Greg |

Hey Greg,
it only plays in the flash player. when i click "play in software" i get the same issue as when i try to enter lastfm://globaltags/90s the console pops up by immediately closes ![]() update: i managed to mash my print screen and capture what it says before the console closes the error says only registered users can record. but i am registered, i even logged in within station ripper, and have tried making a new account from within station ripper. any other tips? im going to re-download and install the demo again in the mean time. Thanks for all your help! Edited by DjC4 |

I can see your problem, DjC4. You are recording minuets while looking for Herbie hancock. That is simply a bad mix of musical types. :-) Sorry, I could not resist. DjC4 said: >>I got the program working, and purchased the gold version. |

Huh - at a guess, somethign was down on Last.fm (which happens every now and then). I would always, if StationRipper was working and then stops, recommend trying to play last.fm in the external player, via IE. If it doesn't play, then Last.fm is down in some way. Thanks, -Greg |

First of all: SR is SUPER!
![]() I like the "personalized" Last.fm stream very much. Last.fm learned what kind of music I am interested in, when I just listened to their music, using IE. Now, from within SR I add the station: lastfm://globaltags/berny2007. berny2007 is my user name with Last.fm. It seems to me that they play my kind of music, but how can I continue to tell Last.fm what I don't like to hear? When I open Last.fm Site through SR I have not been able to record the stream. Any ideas? Regards to all users. |

I can record the last.fm very rarely. Sometimes it is possible, more often- not. I write lastfm://globaltags/dark%20ambient on box under, it "starts" to rip, I can even listen to it, but it doesn't record even a byte. I'm turning on last.fm in late evening, so there shouldn't be so much traffic. Last.fm works good on his own software- I can listen to music without any problem.
The other problem is in the browsers. Since the moment I turned the settings to play in console only, when I want to listen to music on firefox or IE, it shows a white, blank page. I turn my firewall off (it was blocking last.fm "hijacking" by other application), but there's no result. I copied the last.fm console to the SR folder, it helped, but application is still unpredictable. I don't know what to do. Important- I've got 2.82 version. |
